Project Crea-RE created aligned studies in resource efficiency and circular economy

As the main result of the project, 10 ECTS of curricula content, learning package "Resource efficiency and circular economy" was created and aligned. The content is implemented in three higher VET institutions: Lab University of Applied Sciences in Finland,  University of Gävle in Sweden and  University of Latvia.

Interactive information system for small harbours created by SmartPorts

Thanks to the project, 16 small guest harbours were improved with better infrastructure and safety in four countries (most ports in Estonia and Latvia).

ADAPT enabled safer and shorter routes for public archipelago transportation

The system for public transportation at sea differs in Stockholm and Åland archipelago, but project ADAPT tackled the joint challenges in offering a safe, timesaving, and fuel-efficient public transportation at sea.

HANSA developed a joint tourist attraction based on Hansa history

As its main result, the project connected several historic Hansa towns:  Cesis, Limbazi, Koknese, Kuldiga, Valmiera, Pargaujas/Straupe and Vidzeme from Latvia, Pärnu and Viljandi from Estonia and Visby from Gotland and developed a joint tourist attraction based on their Hansa history.

All participating cities made research about their Hanseatic history and heritage. It brought pride to towns and citizens to belong to a strong brand and an important European context. Through the research, also historic recipes were found and are now produced as local Hanseatic specialties.

30MILES developed services for lively water tourism in the Eastern Gulf of Finland

The main result of the 30MILES project was the increasement of the service level at the ports in the Eastern Gulf of Finland (Eastern GoF). The result was achieved with several infrastructure investments in the ports, by creating a network for the small ports and a route risk analysis related to boating in GoF. All in all, 12 different ports and 12 project partners from Finland and Estonia were involved in the project. The project increased the safety and accessability of the ports in collaboration with relevant sailing and port safety officials.

Project BALTACAR made unique underwater heritage more accessible

The well-preserved wrecks in the Baltic Sea waters are unique in the world. The underwater landscape is a special environment resulting from a long seafaring history and good preservation conditions. The remains of shipwrecks in Estonian, Finnish and Swedish waters often sit upright with masts and rigging still intact. In this aspect, the Baltic Sea is a giant underwater museum waiting to be visited.

CLUSME - Cluster-based marketing and export in mechatronics

The main achievement of project CLUSME is broad contact network and strong metacluster between enterprises and organisations from participating countries and target markets. Entreprises involved in project activities have started export activities in 3 new markets: Georgia, Uzbekistan and Republic of South Africa.
Thanks to this project preconditions to beneficiaries (SMEs) from mechanical engineering and mechatronics sectors were created.

Aligned curriculum and training material about skills of cleaning service and health care services in Estonia and Finland

The SAFHY project compared and aligned two vocational education and training curricula from the hygiene point of view.

In the field of cleaning services, two modules of the curriculum for Cleaning supervisor in Estonia were aligned with the modules of study programme Specialization in Cleaning Service /Site Facilities Operative in Finland.

Harmonised vocational educational training in nursing and maritime education thanks to OnBoard-Med

By harmonising and developing curricula for both maritime and nursing education institutions, OnBoard-Med filled a gap in multinational shipping industry.
 
The OnBoard-Med project developed nine vocational modules (2-8 ETCS) in maritime emergency management, medical treatment, and occupational safety. During the project it was found that communication and leadership are crucial for successful operation and handling of emergency.

RIBS trained young people in entrepreneurial and creative skills

By encouraging young people in the archipelago, developing and training their entrepreneurial skills and giving them a positive attitude towards entrepreneurship, you strengthen the region in a long-term perspective. You show them different ways to make a living.
 
The RIBS project involved more than 1000 young people in the ages of 12-18 years in sparely populated archipelago areas in Finland, Sweden, Estonia and Åland.

Footprints of Defence in the Archipelago

The DefenceArch project created a tourism attraction consisting of existing, though almost untapped defence historical sites in the archipelago: the Gålö seal farm in Sweden close to the capital city Stokckholm, the Bomarsund fortress in Åland, the southern cape of Örö and Korpoström in Turku archipelago.
